The inaugural meeting of the Old Laxtonian Club was held on the 28th January 1948. For many years the Club held sporting fixtures against the School and celebrated an annual dinner. With the integration of Laxton School into Oundle School the Club’s activities had lapsed in recent years.
However, following an overwhelming vote by the membership in May 2007, a committee was formed which relaunched the Club with updated club rules at a Special General Meeting held on 26th January 2008. This meeting was followed by a Diamond Anniversary Dinner to celebrate 60 years since the inaugural meeting of the Club.
The next AGM & Annual Dinner will be held in September. Occasional events are organised in between the dinners, the main aim of the Club being to remember Sir Wiliam Laxton and encourage fellowship between those who attended The School.
Membership of the Old Laxtonian Club is automatically granted to all former pupils of Laxton Grammar School, Laxton School and Laxton the day house of Oundle School. There are no fees, the Club is simply focused on fellowship and the remembrance of Sir William Laxton.
If you attended The School, you are invited to contact the Club in order to provide up to date contact details. The Club aims to use this website as a tool to keep members details up to date, to inform the membership of events and to publish photographs of events of interest and items of School memorabilia.
Please help spread the word that the Club is now active again and do encourage members to use this website to update their membership details.
